Golf Courses in Columbia Valley and Panorama (Guide)

April 16, 20264 min read

The golf courses in the Columbia Valley attract players from around the globe who come to experience eight world-class courses set against a stunning mountain landscape. Located just a scenic three-hour drive west of Calgary—a journey through Banff and Kootenay National Parks often called one of the most beautiful in Canada—the valley offers everything from rugged mountain play to open pastoral fairways.

Whether you are looking for the challenge of deep ravines or the serenity of wildlife-filled greens, you will find your favorite course here. Because the Columbia Valley warms up sooner and stays milder than the surrounding areas, our season often extends from March all the way through October.

Here is our 2026 insider guide to the top-rated golf courses in the Columbia Valley and Panorama Mountain:

1. Greywolf Golf Course

Greywolf is an award-winning mountain masterpiece located right here at Panorama Mountain Resort. Designed by Doug Carrick, the course follows the natural elevation shifts of the mountain. Every hole features a forest or peak backdrop, but the signature par-3 "Cliffhanger" is the true star—requiring a tee shot across Hopeful Creek to a green perched on a cliffside. After your round, enjoy a meal at the Cliffhanger restaurant in the stunning timber-framed clubhouse.
